Josh and I took Nolan to his first fair last Sunday in Isle of Wight.
Nolan seemed skeptical at first.
One of our first stops was a Farm area. Maybe 4H sponsored? Not sure.
First, Nolan played in a box (basically a sandbox) filled with raw corn. The had even put dump trucks and such in there for the kids to play with. He thought it was pretty cool, but we didn’t hang out there for too long because he wanted to eat the corn and wasn’t a happy camper when I wouldn’t let him.
In the same tent they had some goats. I placed him on the stack of hay around the fence and the goat came straight at us. Nolan freaked!! Screamed and turned into my arms. I’ve literally NEVER seen him act like that.
He recovered pretty quickly, though, as soon as Dad fed the goats some grain and showed Nolan how friendly they were.
I love his expression in this picture. I think the goat was nibbling his toes.
After the goats there was some pumpkin patch posing.
In the next tent was the actual petting zoo.
And, of course, a pony ride.
Here’s a short video:
There were even camel rides, though we declined to participate in that one.
It was an absolutely fantastic day (despite three outfit changes) with beautiful weather. Nolan napped on the way there and the way back and hardly fussed, except for when he wanted more sno cone. 😉 LOL Like mother, like son.
